Meet our amazing host of the fall tour! Courtney Bee is a star on the New York City comedy scene. With her rich experiences developed in her hometown of Detroit Michigan, her hilarious wit, aggressive punch lines and every day observations keep audiences laughing and entertained around the country. Participating in comedy festivals such as the Black Women in Comedy and the Black Girl Giggles and Rhode Island Comedy Festivals she also opens up for Michael Che and Dulce Sloan. Having been featured in national commercials and campaigns, Courtney is a rising comedic presence ready for her next big opportunity.
Sureni Weerasekera is a Sri Lankan-born, San Diego-raised, & New York-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. She is known for her lighthearted, conversational banter to her ruthless, dark jabs that shed light on cultural dilemmas in a palatable, enticing way. She has performed at SF Sketchfest, Desi Comedy Festival, Silicon Valley Pride Festival and soon, New York Comedy Festival.
Xazmin Garza is a stand-up comedian, actress, and writer living in New York. She made her TV debut in November 2021 on HBO Max in “Comedy Chingonas.” She has toured with and opened for Roy Wood Jr., was a Latino Stand Up Comedy Competition Finalist for HBO Max’s “Entre Nos” in 2021, and a Funniest Stand Up Finalist in the prestigious New York Comedy Festival in 2019. Xazmin had a supporting role in “Cramming” a short film that won the audience award at the Brooklyn Film Festival and has performed in the Women in Comedy Festival—among many others. Xazmin started comedy in Boston, worked as a journalist in Las Vegas, and grew up in Utah.
Marnie Manning is an energetic Barcelona-based comedian and performer from Boulder, Colorado. Marnie was named “Barcelona’s Funniest FICer”, a competition that showcases international comedy talent, and has since performed in multiple cities in Spain in both Spanish and English. With her incredible hosting skills, Marnie runs two weekly shows in the heart of Barcelona. She was recently a feature on ¨Wolf and Friends¨, a live stand-up show hosted by Michelle Wolf. Marnie's quick-wit and honest story telling makes her audience feel as if they are fast friends. Marnie was also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Oregon before relocating to Spain in 2017, and she is ready to get back to her roots and talk to her pals!
Onika McLean, Comedian, Writer, Actor and Influencer was raised in East New York Brooklyn. Onika is a single mother of two, legal professional, and has a no nonsense perspective on life, love, single motherhood and her mid life crisis. She was the fan favorite on Bravo Television, The Single’s Project. Onika is taking the comedy arena by storm with her high energy and know it all attitude that entertains crowds all over New York City and beyond.
Yola Lu is a comedian and actress based out of Austin, TX. She has performed at festivals like Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival in Seattle, and the Comedy Comedy Festival in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of the all Asian American improv troupe, Y'all We Asian, and they've performed at the San Francisco Sketchfest, the Del Close Marathon, Out of Bounds Festival and won the Austin Chronicle's “Best of Austin's Critics Pick”, as well as winners of two B. Iden Payne awards. She recently starred in a feature film called "Night on Sixth" that premiered at the Austin Asian American Film Festival, and is also the winner of the 2022 Austin Chronicle 'Best Actress' award. Jalisa Robinson brings her sometimes-deadpan, sometimes-sparkling style to everything from race to the patriarchy to getting hit on at Whole Foods. A native midwesterner, she now lives in the Bay Area and performs at and produces the most popular independent comedy show in San Francisco, Cheaper Than Therapy, which welcomes over 25,000 guests per year. She regularly performs at the Alameda Comedy Club, the Set-Up, and Don't Tell Comedy. She's performed at comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest and Oakland Comedy Festival, and nationwide.
